The Federation of Plymouth & District Ex-Services Associations are completely restructuring this web site, we hope you will bare with us as this transformation takes place over the next couple of weeks. Keep dropping in on us as the phoenix rises from the ashes.
For a great number of years the federation has used the Tri-Services crest until we were asked to stop using it by the MoD, we introduced the Combined armed services badge with a mixed reception.
We contacted the Collage of Arms asking for their help, are first point of contact was Major Rankin-Hunt.
We wanted something similar to the Tri– Services crest, the end result was the crest which we now use.
To lose one’s identity by a stroke of the pen seemed unfair to say the least, but who are we to argue with the MoD.
Crest are a constant worry for most associations the federation is no different until now.
In the long term the investment made to secure such a crest has been worth the wait. Their will be a slight alteration to the wording around the outer rime, association will read associations.
But saying that this new crest will play a major part in the federations well being for years to come.
Nobody will be able to copy this crest as it will be copyrighted to the federation.
So the federation has gained back its very own identity once again, without copying others.
The federation are moving forwards from the darkest period in its history, no longer will the whispers be heard.
With this new beginning the federation has pulled together, we have elected a complete new committee introduced a newly elected constitution.
The treasury looks a bit thin on the ground, but with the new influx of cash received at least we will be able to capitalize on that investment.
Associations which left us are talking about rejoining us, for 30 years this organisation has prided itself in fighting for serving both serving ex-service personnel.
Times are changing that has improved the link between the armed services and the local communities.
All these alterations which has taken place so far has been with the complete consent of all associations present at the monthly federations meetings.
